History: Scott Grant is a born biker. His father, Gerard Grant, owned a bike shop on Newcastle's famous Westgate Road, and was a founding member of one of the local motorcycle clubs. From a young age, Scott was surrounded by bikes, their riders, mechanics manuals and tools. It's no surprise he grew up in, what's called, "the life."
Despite the bad reputation motorcycle clubs bring, Scott is a fairly decent guy. Even having a police record that spans from drunk and disorderly to grevious bodily harm, he's the type of guy that doesn't like to make too many waves... Unless necessary.
Scott had a fairly normal childhood. He attended school, got decent GCSEs and went to Sixth Form to do his A Levels. Here, he showed an aptitude for Science, but his love for mechanics drowned out, what his Physics lecturer called, his true calling. He completed a mechanics and engineering apprenticeship, and now works on Westgate Road, like his father did.
Personality: If Scott Grant could be called anything, it would be a stereotypical "geordie bloke." He's an avid supporter of Newcastle United, having been arrested several times for being part of the riots often associated with the football club's annual derby match with Sunderland, a rival city. Despite this, he's generally a laid-back man, preferring to take things slow.
Having said this, he is partial to drinking, but not the signature Newcastle Brown Ale, and mis-interpretations when under the influence can be rather explosive.
He's known for being the voice of reason in his MC, the enforcer. He often tries to avoid violence when dealing with problems, personal and club-related, but isn't afraid of knocking heads or getting his hands dirty, as his arrest record shows.
Despite the stereotypes, Scott isn't stupid, but he's not incredibly smart, either. He's good at what he knows, bikes, football, fighting, and doesn't dismiss people who don't share his interests, preferring to try and find a common point to talk about by asking questions. He's social, spending time in local bars and pubs, the gym, and at club events.
Sons of Anarchy AU: Scott is the Sergeant-at-Arms of the Sons of Anarchy MC's Newcastle Charter, under "Mackem" Steve Harris (who earned his nickname by being born on the wrong side of the river Tyne, purely by chance.) The Newcastle Charter handle most of the import/export from Europe through Port of Tyne, before moving it over to Manchester to move to SAMBEL. SAMNEW is one of the newer charters, but one of the most loyal. They often make yearly pilgrimages to Redwood.
